Is The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) a Scam ?
First let me start of by saying I have not joined or tried The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) so I cannot make an absolute judgment on it, but from my research it appears at this point it is not a scam. It is simply yet ANOTHER online multilevel marketing scheme. So this is truly an unbiased opinion
It is basically a 2x2 matrix but the fees are $5.75 EVERY WEEK ie a weekly Alertpay subscription which of course can be cancelled at any time. I have to admit, the email I received promoting this opportunity made it out to be a one time $5 fee. I felt a little misled. The exact words were "The $5 program that could bring you THOUSANDS Weekly!". I don't know about you but I think a more accurate description would have been "The $5/week program that could bring you THOUSANDS Weekly!"
The "product" is membership to a sort of advertising exchange. Their belief is that because the members of The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) are paying members, this means these people are pre-disposed to OTHER online opportunities so if you join you can get a "Gold Mine" of signups. The reality, in my opinion is, most of these people are already in most of the programs or have already tried them. Further, if you advertise your program, whatever that is, you can be sure there will be many others in The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) advertising the very same program too.
Something about The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) that is likely causing a stir and attracting people is the guaranteed signup (or as they say the guaranteed placement) offer. Apparantly, every week they guarantee one placement under you whether you promote or not. So, theoretically, after 6 weeks you will cycle without having to do a single thing. However, the cycle only pays you $10 cash (plus other non-cash benefits) but after 6 weeks you would have paid out $34.50. Therefore, as with all other forced matrix spillover programs, you MUST market this in order to make a profit. I personally think it will be hard to get people to commit to $5.75 per week or $23 per month just to be a member of an advertising club. I personally think one of the $10 web hosting matrixes are better as at least you get web hosting for your $10 which is actually worth something ie many people already pay for web hosting. I for one used to pay about $5 per month until I joined Teamwork Revolution. Because I have referred more than 5 people, I now pay nothing for my web hosting and in fact earn some money from it.
UPDATE JULY 25 - The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) Admin have contacted me to inform me of an error in my above statement. According to them the worse case scenario is you will cycle after 4 weeks, not 6 as I said above. Therefore, according to their email, your MAXIMUM risk is $13 (ie 4 weeks x $5.75 = $23 after which you will receive a $10 commission from the guaranteed placements and cycling). I will perhaps join the program anonymously to confirm this is true.
July 26 - after further communication with The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) Admin, the 4 week worse case scenario was based on 4 placements and 2 spillovers. I have asked what will happen if no one recruits as spillover is not something someone can rely on forever and I don't think should be included in a "worse case scenario".
The admin have replied and my 6 week worse case scenario is indeed "technically" true, however they have told me that this will likely never happen.
Something else that worries me about The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) is this promise of weekly guaranteed placements. Such a promise can easily be fulfilled in the beginning when the matrix is small and there is a flood of people who want to get in on the ground floor. However, once that initial surge slows down, how can they keep the pace I wonder ? If I sign up today, next week they need a new sign up to be placed under me to fulfill their promise to me. Then the following week they now need 2 new signups, one for me and one for the guy who joined last week. The following week they will need 4, then 8 then 16 etc. If they make the same promise to everyone they also need the The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) matrix to grow at an exponential speed to keep up. My guess is that sooner or later they won't be able to fulfill The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) promise and then a reverse chain reaction of people quitting will occur when they don't see the placement occur.
This is just my personal opinion, I could be completely wrong or perhaps I still don't fully understand how The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) works. However, I certainly cannot label The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) as a scam. It is yet another opportunity where you can make money if you market it. You just need to decide how marketable this opportunity is, especially compared to the many other programs out there. The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) doesn't appear to be doing anything especially new or exciting. I still think my "Recommended Programs" are better than this, and hence I don't think I will bother joining. It's a little expensive for me.
If you have joined The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) please feel free to email me your experience good or bad so I can post it for all to benefit from. I would love to hear your The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) experience, especially if it is a negative one. I prefer negative experiences because I believe a company is only as good as it's weakest link. If The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) have no one complaining, then that's a good sign.
If you look at The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) as an advertising vehicle and nothing else then you won't be dissappointed. When one takes out an ad in the newspaper or in the Yellow pages the companies give no guarantee that the ad will generate sales or leads. If you spend the money on the ads and get nothing from it you merely don't advertise again. You would by no means contact the Advertising companies to complain that your ad yielded no results. If you take this approach to The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) then you won't be disappointed. You can pay your $5.75 per week, and if you find the advertising isn't working you can leave and no one will be annoyed. The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) offers the additional bonus of getting some, or all of your $5.75/week back and even the possibility of turning a profit if you cycle enough. It's only when you enter The Advertising Gold Mine (TAGM) on the premise of you think you will get rich with doing little or nothing that you will be disappointed.
