My Online Marketing Experiment – Which are the Best Online Business Opportunities (relatively speaking) ?

Lightning Speed Matrix

UPDATE JUNE 29 2009 - It appears Lightning Speed Matrix are no longer. !!! Their website no longer works so I guess they have packed up.  Nevertheless, my experience with them is still interesting and this also demonstrates the volatility of these online businesses.

My Lightning Speed Matrix is an interesting one.  I joined this at the same time as Revolutionary Matrix and Teamwork Revolution to compare the spillover rates each sponsor was giving.  I got on the first line of who I thought was an experienced marketer.  He claimed to have a Global Domains International (GDI) downline that he was going to market this to and I thought it was a great opportunity to benefit from that spillover.  He even sent me a screenshot of his downline to prove I was on his first level, which I thought was nice.

These guys were a little different as their fee was $15 per month and they gave $2 per referral all the way down.  They were intially a 5x6 matrix but during the 1 month I was with them they made some interesting changes.  I also later realised that they don't offer any webhosting services for that $15 which kinda put me off them.  I took that for granted and assumed all these matrixes were webhosting services, but not this one.  Their "product" is basically membership to their eBook club.  (this is a common "product" for these Online Multi Level Marketing Programs.  By law, you MUST give people something for their money, even if it's just a toothpick or whatever.  A membership to an eBook club, in my opinion is the equivalent to an "online toothpick" ie doesn't really have any value at all).

However, after just checking their site I now see they offer membership to some sort of media centre.  That wasn't available when I was a member so I cannot honestly comment on its value or worth.

Now the interesting thing that happened during my 1 month is the Admin proposed condensing the matrix into a 3x5 from a 5x6.  This would increase the spillover rate by 65% and I was very curious too see if I would get any spillover after the compression.  Once it was done I recieved 1 spillover member, and I wasn't impressed.  Not by the program of course, but I wasn't impressed with my upline.  This compression, in my opinion, should have condensed spillover all the way from the very top resulting in a decent spillover to me.  But in the end I only got 1 so I was dissappointed.

So the program NOW is a 3x5 for $25 per month with $4 per referral on every level with a maximum income potential of  $1452 per month per position (multiple positions are of course allowed).  If you don't care about web hosting then this is a good opportunity when compared to my recommended Teamwork Revolution.   Granted, this is an extra $15 per month, but your referral commission is $4 on every level, compared to Teamwork Revolution's $2 on the 1st and 6th and $1 on every other level.  So by paying an extra $15 per month you are leveraging your efforts by nearly 4 times.  However, one has to weigh up the following questions : Will it be 4 times as hard to get people to part with $25 per month as opposed to $10 ?  Will the lack of webhosting be something that puts people off ?  My personal answer to these questions was yes, but yours maybe different.

If you don't care at all about the hosting, and you think others don't care either then this is probably a better option for you. I contacted the admin of Lightning Speed Matrix to ask about the hosting and their opinion was that most people don't even use it so it's not a big selling point. I agree that most people don't use the webhosting, however I am one of the few that DOES have a website and therefore hosting IS important to me, which is one reason I am still with my recommended program Teamwork Revolution. So this is a personal decision for YOU the marketer to make. It's very possible this program is better for YOU than my recommended Teamwork Revolution. You will, however, need 7 recruits to be making a profit, whereas 6 is the profit point in Teamwork Revolution. On the other hand, the spillover of a matrix only 3 wide is MUCH better than a 5 wide matrix. I think I would prefer Teamwork Revolution to be a smaller matrix thereby increasing spillover. However by making the matrix smaller you also reduce the income potential. But Teamwork Revolution's income potential of $35,000/month is a bit much. No one needs that much money. I would be very happy with a 3x6 Teamwork Revolution Matrix with a maximum of around $1800 income. Or even a 4x6 matrix with a maximum of around $9500. The 5x6 providing a maximum of $35,000+ is a bit excessive. However, overall I still think they are the best program available when considering everything.

As another side note, Revolutionary Matrix are launching a 3x5 version of their matrix mid July 2009.  Theirs is more expensive at $35 per month, but it offers the same increased spillover advantages and higher commission rates per referral.  The same quesitons apply : How difficult will it be to get people to commmit to $35 per month over $10 ?  Will the extra spillover make up for the decreased signups ?  etc
